Martin T. Adam: Producer, playwright, songwriter

As playwright and songwriter Martin began work on What the Buddha Never Taught in 2014. As professor of Buddhist Studies at the University of Victoria, his research interests include Buddhist narrative literature, Buddhist ethics, and meditation theory and practice. In 2017-18 he was Artist in Residence at the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society where he prepared his script for a tabled reading with UVIC Theatre students. In 2019 two staged readings were held at the University of Victoria and on Salt Spring Island. In 2020 he was awarded a Creative Residency at the ArtSpring Centre. In 2022 he produced a full ten-day run of the play which ran at the Jericho Arts Centre in Vancouver.
